Banku music star, Mr. Eazi, features on Glo-powered African Voices Changemakers

Banku music exponent, Nigerian songwriter and music star, Oluwatosin Ajibade, aka Mr Eazi, is this week’s guest on African Voices Changemakers, a personality magazine programme sponsored by the grand masters of data, Globacom on the Cable News Network (CNN).
He will apprise viewers with the story of how he pioneered Banku music, a conflation of Nigerian rhythms and Ghanaian highlife.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, Mr. Eazi started his musical career in 2012 with his Rhythm and Blue single titled “Pipi Dance”.


The success of “Pipi Dance” led to more high-profile recordings like  “Skin Tight”  which featured Efya in 2015 which  in turn gave rise to further collaborations with other A-list acts including  Ghanaian R&B star,Sarkodie;  Lil Kesh,  andBurna Boy who are both  successful Nigerian music  merchants.


In 2017, Mr. Eazi released the mixtape Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1: Accra to Lagos, which featured guest appearances by Big LeanTeknoPhynoDJ Cuppy, and others. The album contained singles like “Leg Over” and “Tilapia” which became instant hits with music lovers across the African continent.


Viewers can catch 29 year old Mr. Eazi on African Voices Changemakers broadcast on DSTV Channel 401 on Saturday at 9.00 p.m. and on Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. The programme will be repeated on Monday at 5.30 a.m. on the same channel.
