Battle of the Year: Glo adds Fans Challenge, Wildcard

Globacom’s dance reality TV show, Glo Battle of the Year, is getting more exciting following the introduction of a competition for fans  and Wildcard opportunities for contestants who have exited the show.

The company announced in a press statement in Lagos on Wednesday that the Fans Challenge will afford viewers the opportunity to win a cash prize of N200,000 every week just by making a video of themselves dancing to the Glo Battle Of The Year theme song, and uploading it on any of the key social media platforms- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok using the hashtag #GloBattleOfTheYear and tagging Glo handles. The top four videos on each of the platforms with the highest engagements will win N50,000 each.

On the Wild Card, the digital solutions provider explained that it offers contestants who have already lost out of the show the chance to be voted back into the show by their fans.

“The Fans Challenge of the Glo Battle of the Year Nigeria is designed to engage and reward our young, passionate and creative viewers across the country who do not have the opportunity to participate on the show. We receive a lot of feedback before, during and after each episode from fans and we now urge them to take advantage of the Fans Challenge to enjoy some reward”, Globacom said in the statement.

With the Wild Card, viewers have the power to decide whether or not any of the losing quarter finalists come back to the competition. All they have to do is go to www.globotynigeria.com and vote for the dancer they intend to save.

Globacom urged lovers of entertainment to watch the exciting fourth episode of the show which will be broadcast this Saturday at 8 p.m. on GloTV app. It will also be aired on Sunday at 8 p.m. on NTA, and AIT on Tuesday at 9 p.m. Award-winning On-Air Personality (OAP) and actor, Do2tun, hosts the show.
