Beat FM, Classic FM and Naija FM join Apple Music as a featured curator

Nigeria’s foremost radio broadcast platform, Megalectrics Ltd. (Owners of Beat FM, Classic FM & Naija FM), today, announced its joining Apple Music as a featured curator, embedding the strongest and best of African music culture uniformly on Apple Radio.

Megalectrics will introduce, a curated collection of Nigerian and African music to Apple Music, designed to help Nigerians home and abroad explore a wide range of music genres.

The newly launched curator page will host a playlist reflecting of Nigeria’s diverse music genres and will be geared towards celebrating great Nigerian and African music legends from past and present generations. It will also host exclusive premieres of New Nigerian and African songs.

Speaking about the partnership, Managing Director, Megalectrics limited, Chris Ubosi says;

“We’re very excited to be joining Apple Music as a featured curator, reinforcing our bouquet of stations as the leading music tastemakers in Africa and beyond.  It also means that users worldwide can discover the vibrant African music genres that are increasingly being consumed by Africans”.

Megalectrics has plans to enhance the offering further by introducing timeless Playlists on each of the Stations.  On Beat FM, the playlists are; The Beatdown, Bubblin Under, UK Pick of The Week, Lagos Loves This, Ibadan Loves This, while Classic FM has Chico’s Overdrive, Connoisseurs Sessions, Rap and Hip Hop Classics, Slow Down Zone, Nineties Middiesand Naija FM’s Playlists includes Nigerian Top 20, Nigerian Sister with Voices, Nigerian Love Songs, Street Party, Unforgettable

The playlists will feature a variety of songs like Wizkid’s Mamacita, Yemi Alade’s Kom Kom, Phyno’s Fada Fada featuring Olamide, Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s Umqombothi, Miriam Makeba’s  Pata Pata, Evi Edna Ogoli’s Happy Birthday, Onyeka Onwenu’s Iyogogo and a host of other amazing songs.
