Bill Gates, ‘My children understand why my fortune is going to charity’

World’s billionaire and founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates (60), says his £70 billion fortune will go to charity instead of his children. And his children totally get it!

He revealed that his children (Jennifer, 20, Rory, 17 and Phoebe, 14) will be given a good education that would help them build a solid career path.  Gates added that however, there will be financial backup for them.

“Our kids will receive a great education and some money so they are never going to be poorly off but they’ll go out and have their own career. It’s not a favour to kids to have them have huge sums of wealth. It distorts anything they might do, creating their own path,” he added.

His first daughter, Jennifer attends Stanford University, California, USA, while Rory and Phoebe school and live with their billionaire parents.

Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda (52), founded The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation  in year 2000 with the aim to help the poor around the world.
