Bishop Bola Odeleke debunks engaging OPC operatives to eject tenants

BISHOP Bola Odeleke has rubbished the tale that she got herself entangled in blasphemy which is contrary to Christian teachings few days back.

Speaking to ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, March 29, 2012, the first female Bishop in Nigeria, Bishop Bola Odeleke through her media manager, Pastor Paul Osuolale debunked the tale that she engaged the services of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), to forcefully eject some tenants from her property at Okota, Lagos.

“First, I want you to know that the story is not true.  We did not contract OPC to eject anybody from any property.  Second, we had no palaver with any police over the said issue.  It’s the handiwork of detractors,” he rounded off.

It was alleged that Bishop Odeleke, in company of her son, Kayode and son-in-law, Tunde Awope, threw caution to the winds in her quest to eject the tenants of one of her properties at Okota, which she has already sold for N30 million to one Mr. and Mrs. Felix Awogu.  The Bishop and her gang were said to have stormed the place very early in the morning and vandalized the property of the tenants.  They were also said to have held the occupants of the building hostage for several hours.  It was said that it took the timely intervention of the Area F Command police station, Ikeja, Lagos to avert mayhem. It was alleged that when the hoodlums sighted the special squad sent to rescue the tenants, some of them took to their heels while others were not so lucky as they were apprehended and detained.  They were said to have been in possession of dangerous items such as charms, machetes and other dangerous objects.  It was also alleged that Dr. Frederick Fasheun intervened for the release of the OPC members but his efforts were completely rebuffed by the police.

Meanwhile, sources also claimed that the Bishop, her son and son-in-law, were invited for questioning but rather than honouring the summon, they petitioned the AIG Zone 2 where they allegedly fabricated all sorts of lies against the tenants.
