ENCOMIUM Weekly contacted Bishop Tom Samson and he confirmed the tale…
We learnt you just bought a stretch limousine?
Yes, it is true. I actually ordered for it to be specifically built for me by Toplimony. It’s a rare brand of stretch limousine that can’t be found in Nigeria.
You seem to be so addicted to expensive toys, how much is it and why this car?
It’s to celebrate the goodness of God and for our forthcoming anniversary. It’s quite very expensive and soon you will see it and show it to the world.
Your annual convention is around the corner, what makes it different?
By the grace of God, Royal Jubilee is our annual convention. And we will clock 23. It is a season of jubilation. During this programme, God would declare His mind for the next year to us. The theme is the Dawn of His Glory. As we teach people during this convention, they will experience new wave of glory. The forthcoming year will now be the year of His glory. We have a lot of pastors’ home and abroad as guest ministers. Bishop Derin Moses, Bishop Odulaga, amongst others, will join in. One of the highlights of the convention is our anniversary thanksgiving on Sunday, December 14, 2014. We have recorded a lot of success this year.
We acquired over 1,000 acres of land as permanent site for our university project and we have fenced it. We started construction in Ewekoro, Ogun state. We opened new schools as Ahmadiya, Egbeda and others. We also got so many other buildings for the ministry. That’s why we are celebrating big. The week-long celebration will begin on Sunday, December 7, to Sunday, December 14, 2014. And we will offer free transport, food and accommodation for all our guests. That will be from Wednesday, December 10, 2014, to Sunday. However, we have some chalets and flats which are air-conditioned. That one attracts N10,000 for the duration.
Where is the fund coming from?
I am a giver and I have taught my people the art of giving. We dedicated boreholes for Iyesi, Ota community in Ogun state. I offered scholarships to people and a whole lot of others. One of the secrets behind our success is that on the last Sunday of every month, we give out food to the needy and less privileged.
Where do you get the drive?
It’s all about passion. For you to succeed, you have to be passionate about your vision and work. If I don’t do projects, I will be sick. I am always on the move. It’s by the grace of God. I am happy He gave me the finances, strength and power to accomplish my dreams.
About the college of education, the first set just had their convocation…
Yes, the college is doing great. Most of our graduates have already secured employment. The secret is that we groomed them and ensured they are well connected.
