Only the federal government can help us find a way out of this present predicament. The fall of the Naira is mainly the cause of everything that’s going on at the moment, and if the naira rises a bit, things will get better.

Yes, we cannot compare last year to 2016. Things are on the high side now. Many people are just trying to survive. The economy is no more friendly.

In what areas are you feeling the bite the most?

Definitely, the financial aspect. Paying bills is no longer a joke. You have to plan ahead to meet certain needs. Prices are increasing every day and there has been no increment in salary. We are just trying to get by.

What do you think is the way out?

Everything lies on the government. They should ensure the economy comes back to life. That is why we voted them in. They should provide better standard of living for the masses that voted them to power. We shouldn’t be suffering like this. It doesn’t happen abroad. Their governments provide basic needs for the citizenry.

In what areas are you feeling the bite the most?

I am owing my landlord this year’s rent. It is now the third month. I don’t even know what to do. How can I get a loan to pay house rent, how will I pay back?. This is something that. I could do with ease two years ago. We were thinking that when the new administration takes over, life will be easier but it is getting tougher.

What do you think is the way out?

We should continue to pray. I don’t trust any government again. I regret voting last year. It is only God that can touch their heart and make things go well for us.

AKINSHOLA OLUFEMI

As a breadwinner, do you think the state of the economy has made things more difficult?

In what areas are you feeling the bite the most?

My clients are owing me. People are buying and they have not paid. I am even tired of everything. I cannot use the goods I am selling. I just have to sell on credit. That ties down money. To collect the money back is usually a serious problem.

The way out is for the federal government to do everything possible to make life easier for everybody.

FESTUS ATTA

The state of the economy is something else. If you buy something today, by the time you go back to get the same thing, the price would have gone up. You can imagine how much naira is to dollar now.

In what areas are you feeling the bite the most?

In what areas are you feeling the bite the most?

Women are fast becoming breadwinners. The money they get from their trade is what families depend on now. Thank God for my wife, she is the one taking care of the family now. I want to do it but I am no longer capable.

What do you think is the way out?

I don’t know the way out. The people in government are only helping themselves. Look at the outrageous amount they have stolen. Is it not enough to pay every Nigerian monthly salary for a year.

JIDE ONIFADE

As a breadwinner, do you think the state of the economy has made things more difficult?

I think the world is really coming to an end with the huge challenge our economy is facing. It is not just Nigeria, look at other nations of the world. The economy of some nations crashed years back and they have not recovered.

Basically, the difficulty is in all areas, everything has become expensive, and everyone blames it on rise of dollar, even local producers lie against the dollar rate to hike prices of goods.

The Federal Government should make amends and make things easier for the masses.
