British Army’s first female commander of a brigade unveiled

A married mother of two young boys (Brigadier Sharon Smith) becomes the British Army’s first female commander of a brigade of 5-000 front line troops. In her mid 40s, she is now the most powerful woman in the British army.

She began her career in Germany with tours in Balkans and Iraq, and after 20 years, she was promoted to the commander of the brigade in August last year.
