Busty actress Cossy Orjiakor denies being broke -‘Power Girls will soon be ready’

Cossy-Orjiakor

Petite busty actress cum entrepreneur, Cossy Orjiakor is back on the block with maiden flick, Power Girls.

The ubiquitous and controversial thespian, in this interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly bared it all about the inspiration behind the flick, what informed the title, Power Girls and more…

What inspired your movie, Power Girls?

Power Girls script is a beautiful story written by Mr. Ubong Bassey. I read through and fell in love with the plot and that’s why I produced it.

Did you go through a training or attended a film school?

I have a Diploma in Scripting, Producing and Directing from Independent Television Association of Nigeria (ITPAN) since 2001. I am so grateful to the association because it was a free program. I still remember Tim Spring from South Africa employed by ITPAN. He lectured us in directing. Though I’m yet to direct a movie.

Will you feature in the movie?

I am acting in the movie. I played a silly well off girl. You need to see it to admire the plot of the story.

Which Nollywood stars would the movie feature?

A lot of Nollywood stars. Anyway, I am very particular about the physical attributes of people I have on set. They really need to fit in well. Also I love girls that have edge. Like Anita Joseph, she is the kind of girl that naturally turns heads and also is a good actress who can hold her own. She got killer curves, especially her huge ass. I also have Delite, she is a singer. She is really gorgeous and also a model. I love to surround myself with pretty ladies. I have Amaka Chukwujekwu too and also other artistes brought in by the director and production manager that I really don’t know well. Now the men, I have TT Temple, Mr. Kenneth, Emeka Smith and also the good-looking Daniel Lloyd. He is a very cute dude. I also have African China. He is a very good actor and also a very funny dude to have on set. He made the whole set very lively. He has all my respect. And also a whole lot of male actors that I really don’t know well for now.

Why the title Power Girls?

The writer and director named the script Power Girls. So, it’s actually from Mr. Ubong Bassey.

Guess he was high on something when he wrote that script but I totally love the story line.

It was rumoured that you are broke, what do you have to say about this?

It’s okay to get broke now. That shows you have money and have invested wisely. But if you guys can contribute money for me I will accept being broke. Should I send my account number?

But it was rumoured you couldn’t afford to pay your cast for the movie Power Girls, so they left location?

All my artistes, as in people I invited I paid them 100 percent upfront. I even paid some that ended up not acting. I was later told that I was not supposed to pay 100 percent. Though I planned shooting for one week and contracted people based on one week. So when some left after one week, I had to rebook and I continued. I changed some with minor scenes because the movie delayed. Also for those with bigger scenes, I could hold up the production and wait for their return. Like right now, I have a party scene on a yacht to conclude the movie, it’s just a day shoot but the lead actor, Daniel Lloyd is in America now. He will be back in two weeks and I will finalize the movie. Meanwhile, it’s in post production now. And hopefully, the movie will come out in May.

How was it, working with the cast?

I had a great team, especially the production manager, Joshac. He is so creative. I also have this crazy DOP that can do stunts just to get good shots, Alloy. And also the assistant director.

What would you say about the people spreading the rumours that you’re broke?

As per the person carrying the rumour of me being broke and all, it’s from the very ugly artiste that I didn’t cast in my movie. My appeal is to take it easy. When I have a part for an ugly soul, I will invite him.
