BVN registration: Nigerians may meet October 31 deadline

Saturday, October 31, 2015, is the deadline for Bank Verification Number (BVN) registration throughout the country. And since the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has vowed not to extend the deadline again, many Nigerians have complied while some are still waiting till die-minutes before they carry out the exercise.

Those that ENCOMIUM Weekly got across to on this spoke on how far they have gone about the registration.

‘IT WASN’T STRESSFUL’

– Helen Adejo

Yes, I have. I have gone to all the banks I have an account to give them my BVN as well. It wasn’t stressful. I just walked up to the customer service person, presented my BVN and left.

‘IT WAS COOL’

– Yemisi Aladeniyi

Yes, I have. It was cool. I just went to a branch of my bank, presented my BVN and it was documented. That was all.

‘I CAN’T AFFORD TO FORFEIT MY MONEY NO MATTER HOW SMALL’

– Steven Odigie

I am always busy at work, that’s why I am yet to transfer it to my other accounts. I have done it before now, but I am yet to effect the transfer which I hope to do before the deadline of October 31, 2015. I just have to find time and show up in the other banks because I can’t afford to forfeit my money no matter how small it may be.

‘I AM YET TO REGISTER FOR MY BVN’

– Yinka Farayola

I am yet to register for my BVN but I am sure I will do it before the October 31, 2015 deadline. I have been to my bank twice this mouth but couldn’t wait to get it done because of my busy schedule. But if in effect I couldn’t get it done, I have nothing to lose because I have very little amount left in the account.

‘I HAVE DONE MINE’

– Funto Ojuri

Yes, I have done my BVN, it was smooth and easy.

‘I’VE UPDATED MY BVN FOR MY ACCOUNT’

– Lekan Adenle

I have three bank accounts. I’ve updated my BVN for two of the accounts. I haven’t done the third one because I have no money in it.
