Debbie finally bows to cancer

Idiagbonya Osarere Debbie finally lost the battle to cancer…she died today April 1, 2016. As at the time she died she was receiving treatment for lung and skull cancer at the Howard University Teaching Hospital, Washington DC, USA.
She became popular in 2012 when she was down with stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer), and her friends created the #savedebbie Campaign to help her raise funds to enable her go for treatment in America.

Her friends were able to raise the N6 million needed for the surgery. Artistes like Ruggedman, Davido, Mo’cheddah, Don Jazzy and more helped with the campaign and also donated.
She survived the breast cancer after series of chemotherapy, treatment and a mastectomy at stage 4.
After surviving stage 4 invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer), she was diagnosed with bone cancer in April 2015 which she also received treatment for and survived.
In January 2016, she announced on her instagram page that the cancer had resurfaced and metasized to her bones and skull wall, and people once again donated funds for her treatment.
She died at the age of 31 and is survived by her mom and siblings who live in Lagos. She lost her father on her birthday on August 1, 2012, after he battled with stroke.
Tributes have been rained on Debbie who people described as strong, always happy and amazing.
