Catalogue of Otedola’s interventions as N5 billion donation breaks record

The N5 billion donation by Geregu Power Plc chairman, Femi Otedola on Sunday, November 10, 2019, to Save the Children intervention in Northeast of Nigeria was labelled by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as “the single largest donation to philanthropy in the country.” 
As stunning as it’s heartwarming, the donation confirms Otedola’s large heart and readiness to make the world a better place as he’s been doing for decades. 
The one-time oil mogul who was down and almost out with the collapse of Zenon Petroleum and Gas, suffocated by N210 billion debt, has always been a cheerful giver.
From his scholarship to indigent students, providing facilities for institutions, medical interventions and support for religious edifices, he’s always been counted among the most generous. 
Here are a few of his interventions :
* N200 million in 2005 as scholarship to indigent students in honour of Sir Micheal Otedola, his father and former governor of Lagos in the early 90s.
* N300 million in 2005 towards the completion of  National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja
* N100 million to Lagos State College of Primary Education 
* N100 for Ilorin Central Mosque (Kwara) 
* N100 million to University of Port Harcourt (Rivers) 
* N2 billion to Augustine University, Epe (Lagos) 
* Medical interventions for football great, Christian Chukwu; former ace goalkeeper Peter Fregene; music superstar Majek Fashek; acting legend Sadiq Daba and Nollywood frontliner Victor Olaokun, among many…
