Cecilia Ibru’s daughter Vivi confirms being divorced

‘I am at peace now’

Vivi Ibru-Stankov, daughter of former Oceanic Bank CEO (Mrs. Cecilia Ibru) has opened up on her divorce, confirming it is all over between her and husband, Aleksander Stankov.

The lady reported to be challenging the court verdict on her divorce has also said she has moved on with her life and that the children are doing fine.

In a short message she sent to us as a reply to our earlier message, “Thank you for asking. Yes, we are divorced. The children are doing extremely well. They see their father on a reasonably regular basis. Things are peaceful. Again, I am grateful that you made an effort to reach out to me for fact rather than spin untruths. Kind regards.”

Vivi Ibru-Stankov’s eight year marriage to Aleksander Stankov went up in flames recently due to irreconciliable differences. After living apart for some time, Aleksander filed for divorce in London. Both ignited a legal fireworks in London fighting over the custody of their three children.

Aleksander later moved to Nigeria to seek for the dissolution of the marriage since it was contracted in Nigeria. He went to the high court of Imo state presided over by Honorable Justice Ngozi Opara and got a judgement severing the marital vows between the two once upon a time lover. A development Vivi challenged in court, claiming in her own petition that she was not aware of the case filed by her husband. She was in the Court of Appeal to overturn the judgment of the lower court in the dissolution of the marriage, maintaining it was obtained by fraud. But Vivi has now said she has left the situation as it is while she is moving on with her life.

Aleksander Stankov and Vivi got married at Our Saviour’s Church, Lagos in 2006. Vivi’s mother, Cecilia Ibru pulled heavyweights to the lavish wedding described as one of the landmark weddings on the social scene.

Born Ayeverhuvwu Oduvesiri Vivi Ibru, nothing much is known about her until she and her ex-husband were mentioned as Mrs. Cecilia Ibru’s accomplices in the fraud case that swept her off as defunct Oceanic Bank managing director. Vivi is described as the quiet one among her children.
