American singer and vocal coach, Cee-Lo Green has apologized for his bizarre tweets on rape which prompted him to leave the social media site following a barrage of criticisms.
The Forget You crooner found himself in hot water after he made controversial comments about rape on Twitter over the weekend, tweeting:“People who have really been raped Remember!!! If someone is passed out they’re not even With you consciously! So With implies consent. . . .”
His comments came after he pleaded no contest on Friday (August 29) to charges that he slipped a woman ecstasy without her consent back in 2012; he has now, however, apologized for the comments, tweeting: ‘I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.’
