FEW days after she was granted divorce, delectable Nollywood actress, Chika Ike has been incommunicado.
ENCOMIUM Weekly’s check revealed that shortly after her declaration on Sunday, July 28, 2013, via social network, Facebook, that she is formally divorced from her five-year marriage to estranged lover, Tony Eberiri, she scampered to the United States of America to celebrate the ruling and also shut out all forms of enquiries from friends and fans.
In an exclusive chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, August 1, 2013, her manager confirmed the development to ENCOMIUM Weekly. “I can tell you categorically that she is on break abroad for now. She can’t be reached either by phone or e-mail. She decided to give herself a break off work and others.”
The sexy 28 year-old Delta born actress announced on Sunday, July 28, 2013, via her Facebook account that she is formally divorced from her lover, Tony Eberiri. The message read, “Hi Fabs! Thank you for your love and support over the years. It’s been an emotional journey and I want to officially announce to you guys that the court has granted me a divorce. I am now officially divorced. Thanks.”
Chika Ike had earlier filed for divorce in an Abuja High Court two months ago. She cited irreconcilable difference, domestic abuse and absence of love as some of the reasons she wanted a formal dissolution of the troubled union which had no child to its credit. The court granted her request on Friday, July 26, 2013, since both parties had for long lived separately and every effort to reconcile them had proved.
The wedding was contracted in 2006. While the marriage was rosy, she resided with her hubby at Egbeda, a suburb of Lagos where he got her a nice restaurant which she was running alongside her acting career.
Things started falling apart when rumours became rife that the couple was having issues over her inability to conceive. She debunked the speculation saying she was still fruitless because of her studies. She was in her final year at the University of Lagos, where she studied Human Kinetic.
Shortly after, rumour of infidelity, battery and lack of care rocked the boat of the couple’s marriage. The climax was when her husband, Tony Eberiri, impregnated another lady. Thus, Chika absconded from her matrimonial home in Lagos to live on her own.
Surprisingly, her acting career skyrocketed shortly after the separation. She began to shuttle Lagos and Abuja where she opened a big fashion house allegedly financed by a top politician she was fingered to be dating.
