Household of God’s Pastor Chris Okotie is not in a fresh romance with a younger lover, Delphine Onyii Okoronkwo, the church’s spokesman, Mr. Ladi Ayodeji has told ENCOMIUM Weekly.
“The name Okotie is commercial. So, all the blogs always like to use it to draw attention. We are not worried at all because that’s their stock in trade. And by now, the public should have got used to it. Anytime they want to draw attention or sell their papers, they use the name, Okotie and attach a scandal. We are not bothered at all. We know the man of God, and we know who he is. “All these false articles and rumours will continue because we know that they are lies and we are unbothered”.
Ayodeji said in a statement he forwarded to ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, July 11, 2013. The rumour mill was agog not long ago with the story that ex wonder boy of pop and serial presidential aspirant, Pastor Chris Okotie, has found love again in a 22-year old pretty girl, Delphine Okoronkwo.
According to the report, which his media minder has now debunked, Okotie has been spoiling his new love silly even to the extent of buying her a N8 million brand new car. Other perks she allegedly gets include a luxury apartment and privilege treats whenever she visits Okotie at his Omodara, Awuse Estate, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos home. Okotie, 55, sacked his wife of four years, Stephanie Henshaw on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Previously married for all of 17 years to long time friend, Teena, he was rumoured to have found love in one Miss Naomi Huffman, a Yaba Tech undergraduate. But the dashing millionaire preacher had swiftly rubbished the report as unfounded and malicious. He went on to tell his congregation he wouldn’t be giving marriage another shot.
Rev. Okotie has again washed his hands off fresh romance with yet another younger lover (Delphine), saying that news men deliberately originate and circulate false information about him purely for commercial purpose.
It is however, not certain if Okotie’s spirited denials of fresh romance after Stephanie would be accepted by his growing army of critics, who insist he likes them young and beautiful.
