Tell us about yourself and what you do?

I was born January 19, 1991, to a family of three, as only girl and the oldest child. I study at University of Belgrade in the Republic of Serbia, in the Faculty of Political Science – Department of Social Policy, to be more specific. I am on scholarship and busy with my masters at the moment.  I am working with a non-profit organization for education of women and children in Third World countries and I am planning to start one myself. I also work as a translator. I fluently speak five languages (including pidgin). I am ambassador of DFNG’ fashion line from London. From time to time I do modeling jobs, but I really don’t take them too serious. Not my priority.

Are you based in Nigeria or in Colombia?

All my life I have been citizen of the world. I hardly lived in South America though. I was born and mostly based in Europe – France-Holland-Serbia because of my education. Lately, my route Europe-Nigeria became quite frequent in my schedule.

How did you meet IK Ogbonna and what was the major attraction?

We have one mutual amazing friend, a girl called Oma. She was just too sure that me and IK would make one perfect match. She introduced him to my Instagram page, then he did the rest of the work. He asked for my BBM pin, next thing he got me on my phone 24/7. If somebody had told me, I would not have believed. I guess life is full of surprises. Sometimes all we got to do is to follow our intuition. I got to discover a male version of me! It feels too right.

Why did you accept his proposal?

I am a very spiritual person. I just know when something is right for me. I never doubted him, not for a second. He makes me happy, he makes me better.

What do you and IK share in common?

We are too much alike. If we were from the same country, I would never doubt that he might be my long lost twin brother. He knows how I breathe! First time I met a human being that is capable of reading my mind. We share same vision and points of view when it comes to life, love, success and family. He is my pal of life.

What was your parents’ reaction about you dating him?

They all adore him cause of his amazing personality, big heart and the fact that he treats me like a real man should. Every normal parents are happy with their children’s happiness.

How long have you been together and what has kept your relationship going?

I have a feeling like it’s been a whole life or two. If you want to enjoy real beauty and power of love, don’t be so busy proving each other right/wrong. There is no right or wrong when it comes to love. This game is endless, pointless and it will never lead you anywhere. The point is to learn how to put yourself in your partner’s shoes. To understand each other’s feelings and to let each other know you are speaking the same language, you are in the same team, you are the best of friends, partners in crime, not enemies.

We all battle with insecurities, frustrations, fears. We all trip from time to time, because we are all humans. But that’s why it’s so important to feel free to talk (not argue) with your partner and let him know how you really feel from the bottom of your heart . And also, to know how to listen, not for sake of replaying or arguing, but for the sake of understanding. We helped each other cure from all negative feelings we carried from the past, we got mature enough to understand that love is really drama-free and selfless and it must be based on unconditional trust. We don’t hide phones from each other, we don’t spy on each other.

Honesty, understanding and daily appreciation and gratitude leads you to a healthy and relieving relationship. Don’t ever try to imprison your partner or try to keep him/her away from his or her destiny and purpose in the name of love because that has nothing to do with love, but with some personal issues.

Support and encourage each other with positive energy, thoughts, words, prayers and faith. He is making me feel so confident, like there is nothing I can’t do.

Being an expectant mother, how do you feel?

I feel so much love from inside and out. Excitement! It’s quite magical to have another human being growing inside of you that is half you and half the person you love.

When the doctor confirmed that you were pregnant, what was your reaction?

I had a panic attack for a minute, although we saw it coming. It’s all natural.

How would you describe your first trimester?

Oh Lord! It was difficult! I could not eat at all. Every food on planet earth made me sick.

What are some of the things that have changed about you at this stage?

I feel more confident than ever. I feel matured and complete. It seems I understand life better now.

When are you likely to walk down the aisle with IK?

I was never the type of girl desperate to get married. At some point, I wasn’t even seeing myself getting married because it seemed like people are going that direction for so many reasons that had nothing to do with what marriage supposed to represent. The most annoying part of marriage is the fact that people are now forcing it for the sake of proving one thing or another. Even though my opinion about this changed since I met a man I want to spend my life with, I still prefer to have one intimate, personal ceremony, at the place that makes me happy with people that truly care. When? It might have already happened, but how would you know?

Truth is, every new place in this world will be different one you are used to. The thing is – you can enjoy those differences and learn from them or you can see them as a problem- but that’s nothing but a question of your personal choice and point of view. I choose to love Nigeria and see it as my other home.

I adjust and learn very fast, that is in my nature. I belong everywhere my heart is. I enjoy weather, food, music and vibes. Lagos is one of my cities now.

Have you been rocking our African prints and how different do you feel wearing them?

Ankara, yeah? I love it. It’s so colourful, feminine and it gives you space to express your creativity when it comes to designs. It could be very elegant, traditional or quite casual and modern. I need to sew some more.

What does love mean to you?

Love is purpose, motivation, force and phenomenon. No matter what you do – professionally, emotionally and spiritually – you should engage love to it that is the only way to feel happy, fulfilled, complete and satisfied. Always follow your heart.

You recently took part in a charity programme, what does this act of giving mean to you?

As I said, I study Social Policy and one of the programmes I am into is called Education of Children in Third World Countries. Since I came to Nigeria, I just used the opportunity to visit schools in different slums and areas, but I have been into all these charity things for long. I am passionate about it. We don’t choose where or in which circumstances we are going be born, but we all deserve equal chances. I believe I am powerful and blessed enough to be a blessing to someone else, especially when it comes

to the most innocent and vulnerable social categories. Nobody ever became poor by giving. It’s not about feeding people in need, it’s about changing and improving entire system and exterminating ignorance, that is the root of the major problems  in developing countries and very powerful weapon of manipulation.

Education must not be a luxury.

Do you see yourself setting up an NGO?

Totally.
