The Pearllook Beauty Contest is a fresh initiative borne out of a burning desire to give back to the society by empowering young ladies. It is a platform for young aspiring models to achieve their dreams. This event has been set up in such a way that each contestant would be trained and ready to face the challenges of modelling.

Pearllook Beauty Contest was held on Sunday, September 12, 2015 at Havillah Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s DAPO ADESEKO spoke with the winner, Jane Mbagwu, she spoke on her winning traits and more…

DSC_0598How do you feel winning this beauty contest?

I feel excited very happy.

Were you expecting anything like this would happen?

I was not expecting it. That is why when my name was announced, I was so excited. This is unbelievable. I feel I am still dreaming.

What would you say gave you an edge over other contestants?

I would say my confidence. All the contestants were very beautiful and good looking. I think I have confident.

Why did you put in for the competition the first place?

I don’t just want to come here and win. I want to give back, especially those that are less privileged. So, whenever there is opportunity for me to be in a better position I would help those that are in need.

I want them to see me as a role model. They should not allow the circumstances they find themselves put them in limitation.

Among the contestants who gave you the toughest time?

I think Agnes, because she is my friend. She is very humble and intelligent. So, I saw her as a queen.

She was like a beauty queen back on campus. I think she was my biggest problem.

How do you intend to spend the money attached to the crown?

I will start my pet project with it.
