CONSTRUCTION OF REDEEMED’S 3-KILOMETRE, N20 BILLION AUDITORIUM KICKS OFF

The construction of the three kilometers radius auditorium announced by the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has fully kicked off.

Our visit to the new site on Saturday, April 19, 2014, located about two kilometers away from the Redemption Camp confirmed the reality of the new auditorium. At the moment, the major road leading to the site has been opened with standard trunk-A size.

According to our findings, Pastor Adeboye inaugurated a new office, called RCCG Project Office for this singular purpose. This office is headed by some senior pastors who are also professionals in different fields. The RCCG Project is specifically mandated to handle the construction of the new auditorium and other facilities that will be on the new site. On Saturday, February 8, 2014, the General Overseer and some top pastors were at the site to officially lay the foundation.

Encomium Weekly reliably gathered that the construction of the new auditorium was set as the priority for the RCCG Project. Presently, 90 percent of the clearing for the first phase has been done and equipment are readily on ground to executive the project. Noticeable among them is the concrete batching plant, erected to produce all the concrete works. There are also the site offices and stores. According an insider, the church decided to form RCCG Project Office to enable it manage and complete the project on time. The Arena (the biggest auditorium on the Redemption Camp) cannot accommodate members again during major services. They are looking at the possibility of getting the new site ready for the next Holy Ghost Congress in December (2014).

The source further explained, “Going by our plans, we have 50 – 50 percent chance of achieving that. Remember, Lekki ’98 which was the first Holy Ghost Congress was an open air crusade. Likewise, when we moved to the Arena, it was on open air. That gives us an insight into what could probably happen on this new site.

“If we are able to have the next Holy Ghost Congress on this site, I can assure you, there will be no going back”.

The respected man of God announced to the congregation at the annual Holy Ghost Congress in 2012, that the church has acquired an expanse of land that will accommodate a three kilometer long auditorium.
