Cool FM sponsors students to the Notre Dame University film festival

AS part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and efforts to expose Nigerian undergraduates and broaden their knowledge in movie production, Cool FM and Cool TV sponsored three students to the 8th NDU International Students Film Festival, which took place at Notre Dame University Louaize, between November 15 and November 22, 2015.

“We started being a part of the NDUISFF (Notre Dame University International Film Festival) from 2012 when Damilola Kolajolu won, to 2013 Seun Adebanjo and Nneka Chile, 2014 Akinola Akinlade and Wickliffe Adewunmi Emmanuel,” the Managing Director of Cool FM, Engr. Amin Moussalli said, while addressing the media.

He explained that every year, they have funded all expenses to the Film Festival for each student, but happy that this year Heritage Bank will be sponsoring the student’s expenses to Lebanon.

“The Film Festival is an opportunity for students to interact with other students from all over the world.”

This year, with over 600 entries, Chima Martins Agara of Imo State University, Senate Ewah George of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Ayodeji Donaldlove Ogunleye of National Films Institute, Jos, made the winners list, after being carefully selected by a team of industry experts including award- winning producer and director, Emem Isong, who produced two of the films named, Honey Money Pot, Dead Alive and WETV Productions who produced and directed one short film, My Name is Amina.

Chima Martins Agara wrote Honey Money Pot, a tale of the consequences faced when students ignore their academics and moral values and get engaged with promiscuous behavior.

My Name is Amina, a story of what goes through a suicide bomber’s mind minutes before the self- condemnation by bombing was written by Senate Ewah George.

Finally, Ayodeji Donaldlove Ogunleye wrote, Dead Alive -the story of a very confused girl after being sexually abused by family members, leading her to turn to drugs, alcohol and violence.

On his part, Group Head, innovations and products, Heritage Bank, Tobe Nnadozie, said the sponsorship will help the students achieve their dreams and add value to the society.  He assured that the bank will not hesitate to participate in any activity that will enhance the talents of Nigerian youths.

The festival held from November 15 to 22, 2015 in Beirut, Lebanon.
