Cool FM sponsors students to the Notre Dame University Film Festival

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, and efforts to expose Nigerian students and broaden their knowledge in movie production, Cool FM is sponsoring two students to the 7th NDU International Student Film Festival, taking place at Notre Dame University, Louaize, between November 10 and November 17, 2013.

Briefing newsmen in Lagos on this imitative, boss of AIM Group, owners of Cool FM/Wazobia/Info FM, Am Mousalli said, “We started being a part of NDUISFF from last year when Damilola Kulajolu of Bowen University won the competition. His short film, A Life was directed and produced by Chineze Anyaene (director of Ije) and Cool FM, Wazobia FM and Nigeia Info FM were executive producers.

“Damilola was funded by us to attend the film festival and he had the opportunity to interact with other students from all over the world. This year, with over 400 entries, 20 year old Seun Adebajo of Babcock University and 19 year old Nneka Chile of University of Lagos made the winners list, after being carefully selected by a team of industry experts including Keke Bongos Ikwue and Charles Novia who produced and directed both short films.”

Seun, according to Mousalli, wrote, Maga Don Pay, a romantic comedy set in suburban Lagos that tells the story of a young successful businessman, James Bakare, who considers himself knowledgeable enough to identify perfection in a woman, but truly finds it hard to find that woman.

While Nneka wrote, Omono’s Tale, a story of the challenges women face in marriage and how they affect their lives. The festival, one of the largest in the world is from November 10 to November 17 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Babatunde Anjorin of Anjoreen Couture is back from the fashion show he attended in Washington DC, USA. His aide, Babatunde Shekunbi also returned from Germany where he travelled for pleasure that same week.

MASS BIRTHDAY AT D’PLACE

A star-studded mass birthday party was held at D’Place by Club Papas on Thursday, October 31, 2013. It was a fun-filled day for music star, Iyanya, Frank Okamigbo and DJ Humility.

In the house to celebrate with the birthday boys were  2Face Idibia, D’Prince, K-Switch, Davido, Timaya, Don Jazzy, Ubi Franklin, amongst others.

The celebs had earlier in the day visited the prisons and charity organizations. It was a dance with the destitute at Oko Baba, Ebute-Metta, Lagos for Frank Okamigbo and DJ Humility. They also handed them food items and cash.

2FACE, JIMMY JATT  AT ISAAC FAYOSE’S LOUNGE

On Saturday evening (October 27, 2013), pop star, 2Face Idibia and Africa’s most popular DJ, Jimmy Jatt were at Swanki Alibi, the new lounge Isaac Fayose opened recently in Lekki, Lagos.

Big player in marine equipment business, Toyo Badmus is living large. He recently completed a multi-million naira edifice in Lekki, Lagos. On top of it, he has also taken delivery of a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon. Black, the toy made this year reportedly cost him N22 million.

OBAT OIL MOVES OFFICE

Oil and gas company, OBAT Oil has moved from Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos, to a new location. The new place is identified as OBAT Place, on Norman Wiliams Street, Ikoyi, Lagos. The relocation was necessitated by the continued growing profile of the company managed by Prince Femi Akinruntan, one of the sons of HRM, Oba Frederick Obateru Akinruntan, who is the founder of the indigenous oil trading company. The new place will now become their corporate head office.

ABOUT THE UCHE OGAH FOUNDATION

The Uche Ogah Foundation, a non-profit and non-governmental charitable organization was established in 2011 by Dr. Uchechukwu Samson Ogah.

Founded to co-ordinate and harmonize the philanthropic efforts of Dr. Ogah, its major thrust is to alleviate the sufferings of the less privileged through education and empowerment.

The foundation has so far intervened in the area of empowerment, support, assisting persons with disability, healthcare, leadership training, skills development, widows in need, scholarship programmes, amongst others.

Enigma Variety Nite, the show that started on November 7, 2012, would be one this week! According to the lady behind the concept, Sandy Ajayi, the 50th edition of the show, that promotes up and coming artistes as well as A-list artistes, fashion designers amidst live music and DJ performances (on a weekly basis) would be at the exotic Rhapsody Lounge at the City Mall, Ikeja, Lagos.

The night promises to be star-studded with performances by Baba Dee, Dona Diva, Ketchup, Mike Anyasodo, Kola Soul, Splash, comedians, et cetra.

SAMBO, AGANGA, UTOMI TO GRACE NEBA 2013

Vice President, Nemadi Sambo, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, globally renowned economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, amongst other eminent Nigerians drawn from mostly the corporate world, would be attending this year’s edition of the Nigerian Elite Business Awards (NEBA). The Akandes have a family house in Ikoyi, Lagos.
