FAIR actress cum singer, Cossy Orjiakor had a bitter pill to swallow a couple of days back. ENCOMIUM Weekly’s findings revealed that the tiny voiced lady was attacked by men of the underworld on her way to a friend’s party on Monday, April 7, 2014.
The incident took place around Orile Coker, when she was going to Festac Town from the Island.
Information pieced together by ENCOMIUM Weekly revealed that Cossy was driving alone in her jeep when three men apprehended her, broke her side glass, made away with her phones and perfume. Luck smiled on her because they were in a haste to take the easiest valuables. So, they did not succeed in taking her handbag which had her money and jewelry.
She, however, sustained minor injuries as a result of the attack.
Speaking to ENCOMIUM Weekly on Friday, April 11, 2014, in a phone chat, the actress narrated her ordeal. “Yes, it is true. I was robbed on my way to a friend’s party.”
We probed further the allegation that she was actually off going to a club. “No, it wasn’t a night club. My friend, Amaka Okere was celebrating her birthday, that was where I went. I don’t go to night clubs except it is on the Island.”
We further asked her if she suspected anyone. “No, that is the way they behave, especially on that route. Once they notice you are alone in the car, they attack you. I know of two people they have attacked. Amaka was once a victim, African China’s wife was also a victim.”
Did you report the case to the police? “I didn’t report to the police, it didn’t cross my mind. They normally insist you must report to the nearest police station in the area of incident. It was already dark, so I just took my mind off it. It happened around 7 p.m. I know I can track the person if they start using my Blackberry.”
We also asked if they made away with any other valuable. “My bag was at the back, they didn’t have the patience to search my car. They just wanted to make away with what they could before any assistance from passersby.”
So, what is the state of your car now? “I have fixed it. It was just the glass that was broken.
