Cristiano Ronaldo splits with Irina Shayk, wishes her ‘greatest happiness’

The romance of Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo and Russian supermodel, Irina Shayk has, sadly come to an end, following weeks of speculation, the Real Madrid striker confirmed in a statement.

29-year-old Ronaldo said in a written statement sent exclusively to The Associated Press: “After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end”. He continued: “We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now”.

He, however, wished the 29-year-old stunning beauty well saying: “I wish Irina the greatest happiness”.
