Dangote Shakes Off Gloom Of Losing $10.3 Billion In Three Months

-Joins Okoya-Thomas’ children @ funeral

In spite of losing a huge chunk of his fortunes in three months, amiable President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote attended the funeral of Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas on Friday, March 6, 2015.

Smiling and exchanging pleasantries with the children of the socialite accountant who passed on on Saturday, February 1, 2015, Dangote shook off the gloom remarkably.

Africa’s richest man lost about $10.3 billion between November 5, 2014 and March 2, 2015  moving from Forbes rich list at number 23 with $25 billion to number 67.

Emerging the biggest loser on the list, on account of Nigeria’s troubled economy with exit of foreign investors, falling oil prices, rage of insurgents, crashing naira and insecurity over the elections, Dangote was hugely affected.

Those close to the soft-spoken mogul said he kept to himself on many occasions and was a bit touchy. Who wouldn’t?

The king of cement, flour, salt, sugar and more has been the biggest victim of Nigeria’s troubled economy  and has suffered hefty losses in the process.

Over the last three months, he has moved from number 23, danced to 37, 38 and now settled at 67 on the Forbes rich list.

But like a true Moslem, he has taken the loss in his stride, and back on the social circuit.
