David and Goliath? World’s shortest and tallest persons meet for the first time in London

The world’s tallest and shortest men met for the first time today (Thursday, November 13) in commemoration of 60 years of Guinness World Records in London (England).

Sultan Kösen (31), standing at 8ft 1in and Chandra Dangi, who measures just 21.5ins, posed for photos outside the Houses of Parliament.

Mr Kösen, a part-time farmer from Ankara (Turkey), also holds the record for the largest hands of a living person, each measuring 11.22 in from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger.

Mr Dangi, who lives in a Nepalese village, is the shortest adult human alive; he is as tall as six cans of Heinz baked beans stacked on each other.
