Designer TESSY OLISEH and OHIMAI GODWIN narrate their love story

+ Set to wed April 26

TALENTED designer, Tessy Oliseh has found love and she is so happy about it.  The wedding bell will soon begin to toll.  Tessy and her heartthrob, Ohimai Godwin will walk down the aisle on Saturday, April 26, 2014, in Lagos.  ENCOMIUM Weekly had a chat with the lovebirds on how they found love and much more…

Congratulations!  How does it feel finding love?

It feels good.  I give God all the glory.  I also thank God for His unspeakable gift.

How did your path and his cross?

It was a divine direction. He saw what I made (clothes) for someone and asked who made it.  So, the guy gave him my number, that was it.

What was the attraction?

His love for God.

What do you cherish most about him?

He is very humble and the Bible says, humble yourself and God will lift you up.

How long have you been dating?

For a while now.  We met in 2011, though on business basis.  We became friends and here we are now.

How did he propose to you?

He proposed in a lovely city, somewhere very cosy and romantic in Edo State.  In the middle of our chit chat, he just said he had a gift for me.  He went to his luggage, brought out a gorgeous silver studded ring and asked me if I would marry him.  He went on his knee to propose.  I looked straight into his eyes and I said yes.

Since he is based in Abuja, what will happen to Tesslo Concept, are you relocating the business to Abuja as well?

Tesslo Concept will still be running.  We will establish more branches.  Sure, Abuja automatically becomes our base.

How many children are you looking at?

We leave that to God Almighty.

Congratulations!  How does it feel finding love?

Love is a beautiful thing. Without love, man is dark, hollow and empty. Finding love is finding happiness and completeness.  Since I found Tessy, I stepped into a new realm of happiness and completeness.

How did you meet her?

I met Tessy in 2011 in the course of an official assignment while I was Special Assistant on Advocacy to the Minister of Youth Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, who is now the Minister of Sports.  It happened when I asked my good friend, Tobi Sanni Daniel, business manager to Ice Prince to introduce me to whoever makes his clothes because he has this uniquely stylish dress sense that always stands him out.  So, the introduction was done, Tessy came to take my measurement at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, venue of the launching of You Win Business Plan competition for South West zone. That was where the spark was ignited and today, the rest is history.

What was the attraction?

I believe the attraction was more spiritual than physical.  There was something irresistible about us that just clicked beyond our natural senses.  There was no argument, no stress and no issues despite the challenge of distance because she is based in Lagos and I am in Abuja.  Since we met, there has been this feeling of peace, happiness and rest that I enjoy.  The type I believe you find only in a woman that is God fearing, loving, hard working, resourceful and dependable.  Clearly, Tessy is the woman designed for me and me alone and I am happy I was wise enough to realize that early.

What do you cherish most about her?

What I cherish most about Tessy is her love for the things of God.  When you have a wife who loves and fears God, you can go to sleep knowing that your home is in safe hands.

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Ohimai Godwin Amaize.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French (Combined Honours) from Nigeria’s premier university, the University of Ibadan and a post graduate certificate in Managing for Integrity from the Central European University, Budapest, Hungary.  I currently serve as Special Assistant on Youth and Grassroots Sports to the Honourable Minister of Sports and chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
