‘Desperate’ Fayose rebuked for humiliating Zenith bank staff

Followers of the EFCC vs Governor Ayo Fayose via Zenith Bank account freezing case were left unimpressed when the Ekiti state governor’s aide posted pictures of a young man in suit, kneeling in front of the Ekiti state governor flanked by other suited men with the caption, “Officials of Zenith Bank kneeling down to beg Fayose today”.

The governor’s media aide, Lere Olayinka’s handle had tweeted the pictures implicating the bank staffers in retaliation to the bank’s denial that it sponsored Fayose with any sum of money to aid his second term campaign.

It will be recalled that Governor Fayose, while defending allegations that funds meant for procurement of arms were traced to his Zenith bank accounts, had boasted that the bank funded his campaign.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2016, Gov. Fayose, speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi said “The management of Zenith Bank, which majorly funded my election, called me to a meeting where I was assured that fund will be provided for my election.”

But the bank swiftly denied any such funding, and Fayose retaliated through his aide by publishing these career damaging pictures of alleged Zenith Bank staff.
