The first of 3-part ‘On Tour with MTV Shuga’ events special kicked off last weekend in Calabar, as MTV Shuga, winner of “Best TV Series” at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards, took over the Monty Suites for an exclusive mini festival.
Hosted by MTV Base VJ Ehiz and actress Sharon Ezeamaka, On Tour with MTV Shuga featured exciting performances by talented DJs Caise and Neptune as well as a meet-and-greet session with fans.
In search of the Ultimate Shuga Fan, attendees also participated in the auditions for #MTVShugaAAA competition to be a red carpet reporter at the premiere of Series 4 later this year. The auditions were judged by VJ Ehiz, DJ Neptune and Sharon Ezeamaka.
Confidential HIV testing and counselling were also available free of charge on site. All attendees at the event won their tickets via a ballot after visiting their local HIV testing clinic run by the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).
On Tour with MTV Shuga is an exciting new part of the outreach campaign for MTV Shuga, and is designed to motivate young people to ‘know their status’.
Additional On Tour with MTV Shuga events will take place on 9 May at The Bank in Abuja and on16 May at UNILAG in Lagos.
