What is your reaction to the price adjustment of DSTV subscription?
I feel this shouldn’t be done at this stage even though they gave the excuse of the continuous rise of the dollar against our naira but do you know other countries are calling them to order already. Same thing they did in 2012 and then gave us incentives of 10 percent pay before expiry to keep us coming.
How much were you paying before for subscription?
I pay for the family bouquet because I also have other cables but the kids prefer this, so it’s N3,000 for now.
How much is it now?
I know by April 1, it will be N3,500 or thereabout.
What is unique about DSTV?
Their usage of technology is unparalleled for now even though it still battles with signals during rainfall.

I am very indifferent to the price hike. I see DSTV as a choice. It is luxury and not necessity. So, if a person doesn’t like the service, he should unsubscribe.

I was paying approximately N11,000 before.
How much is it now?
It is roughly N14,000 now for the package of my household.
What is unique about DSTV?
The unique thing is that I could watch most of the programmes I am already used to in Europe here in Nigeria. And it enhances the quality of our local stations, for instance, AIT, NTA, Channels, etc are much clearer on DSTV.

It’s a terrible move on the part of DSTV. If I had a choice, I would switch to another service provider.

I pay N3,000 now N3,600 with 20 percent increase.
I don’t like to but I don’t have a choice until I find another service provider I can get the same service or close.

Mnet channel and sports channels.

Given the current dollar rate and financial down turn, it was expected, but remarkably too high and tends to take advantage of operating in a monopolistic market to exploit.

Maybe because I can watch football, that is all.

The recent price increase of the DSTV subscription is extremely annoying, especially when you take into consideration the price paid in other countries. They could have come up with a pay per view option instead.
How much were you paying before for subscription?
Around N10,000 depending on the type of plan I subscribe for.

I will need to find out. I was so annoyed when I heard their subscription has increased. I didn’t find out how much I will be paying.
What is unique about DSTV?
With the recent increase, I would sadly have to continue because of the only unique thing about them, their coverage of the English Premier League. That is the reason most people still patronize them even after the increment.

I believe DSTV is taking us for April fool, because I know it’s not possible for them to put us on more than 100 percent increase. And if that be, our government is naughty to have allowed that due to what is given to them as bribe.

Depending on which plan I subscribe for, it is usually not less than N5,000.

I can’t remember how much it is now.
What is unique about DSTV?
I have made up my mind to embark on internet subscription (router) for me and my family instead of being cheated by all these corrupt people (DSTV and Nigerian Government). DSTV operates pay as you go in South Africa, why not so in Nigeria. Everything lost is being recovered from the masses.
