Fuji- pop singer, Elizabeth Taiwo Olapeju, better addressed as Eazy Lizzy, on Thursday, May 12, 2016, walked down the aisle with her new lover, Kazeem Afolabi (Kashmal) of Kashmal Motors Limited, in a very quiet way.
An industry source informed ENCOMIUM Weekly that the first leg of the wedding held at Ikoyi, Lagos Registry, and was attended mainly by members of the couple’s families with few friends and well wishers.
The second leg (traditional marriage), we were told, held at Eazy Lizzy uncle’s residence at Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos that same day, and was followed by a reception at the same venue.
According to the source, the event was low key as everything was mainly family affair.
On Saturday, May 14, 2016, ENCOMIUM Weekly contacted Eazy Lizzy, and she spoke excitedly on the good news.
“Eazy Lizzy is in a very joyous mood at an insider told ENCOMIUM Weekly, the moment. I learnt she has finally tied the nuptial knot with her new lover, Kashmal. It’s a kind of family thing.
“I learnt the marriage registration took place at Ikoyi Registry, with few people in attendance. Then, they later moved to the bride uncle’s house at Jakande Estate in Isolo, Lagos for the traditional aspect of the wedding and reception.
“I also gathered there’s no likelihood of any white wedding again as both Eazy Lizzy and her husband are not of the same religion. I think that’s the real reason they considered white wedding unnecessary any more.
“But whatever it’s now, Eazy Lizzy’s prayer to get a man to spend the rest of her life with has been answered, and I am happy for her.”
Speaking with Encomium Weekly on Saturday, May 14, 2016, the talented entertainer expressed joy and excitement about the development.
“I am happy that I have settled down finally after having gone through a lot of challenges concerning marriage. It’s really a thing of joy that I have formalized my relationship with the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. I thank God for that.
“We registered our marriage at Ikoyi Marriage Registry on Thursday, May 12, 2016, but it was rounded off with engagement and reception in my uncle’s place at Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos that same day.
“Truly, it’s low key. We chose not to make any noise about it because we considered it unnecessary. That’s the real reason we didn’t invite any media house. And for me, it’s long overdue. We just decided not to make it public. I wondered how you even got to know of it. And we like it as it’s purely a family affair. We’re happy that everything was a success.”
On whether the reason they jettisoned white wedding was because she is a Christian while her hubby is a muslim, the Awe, Oyo born musician reacted, “That’s not true. We have no problem with each other concerning religion. We only decided not to bother ourselves with any white wedding any more. And that’s acceptable to both of us.”
Eazy Lizzy has a 3 year-old daughter out of wedlock.
