Ebola: Australian woman tested for virus after arriving from Sierra Leone

A 57-year-old woman in Australia is being tested for the Ebola virus after she developed a ‘low grade’ fever today (October 9) following her return home on Tuesday (October 7) from Sierra Leone, health officials have confirmed.

The woman – identified as Sue-Ellen Kovack – had been working as a nurse with the Red Cross in Sierra Leone for a month and was exposed to people with the virus.

She has now been taken to a hospital to be assessed by specialists.
