William Pooley, the British nurse who survived the Ebola virus, has been flown to the United States (US) on a life-saving mission to give blood to a new victim of the virus.
He is to give blood in order to save the life of a doctor who contracted the disease while working in Sierra Leone in Atlanta as his blood carries antibodies for the disease.
Mr Pooley – from Eyke, Suffolk – and the yet-to-be-named new patient, are said to be close friends after working together at the Ebola treatment centre in Kenema, Sierra Leone.
