A British man has died from symptoms consistent with the Ebola virus while on a business trip in Macedonia, heightening fears even further.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has, however, said it was “unlikely” that the 57-year-old Briton – who displayed fever, vomiting and internal bleeding – had contracted the disease as neither of them is believed to have traveled to any of the worst-hit countries.
His hotel in the Macedonian capital – Skopje – has been sealed off and a 72-year-old friend who has also been taken ill has been put into isolation.
