Ebola infested corpses abandoned on Sierra Leone streets

Reports from the media in Sierra Leone indicate that dead ebola victims are being abandoned on the streets due to a strike by burial teams over unpaid wages.

The workers, who say their job is one of the most dangerous in the world, are unhappy that they have not been paid their wages.

“We don’t even care if dead bodies have been littered all over the city – all we want is our money. We’ve been stigmatised in our communities, so let the government pay us our money,” said one frustrated worker.

Six hundred people have died from the virus in Sierra Leone, according to the World Health Organisation.
