United States (US) President, Barack Obama, while speaking at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta – warned of a “potential threat to global security” if the Ebola virus is not eradicated on Tuesday (September 16).
He said: “If the outbreak is not stopped now, we could be looking at hundreds of thousands of people affected, with profound economic, political and security implications for all of us”.
It would be recalled that the US is sending 3,000 troops – including engineers, medical personnel and other service members, who will build treatment centres in West Africa.
