Emergency measures were activated after a passenger arriving on Air France at an airport in Madrid (Spain) was suspected of having the Ebola virus.
The passenger – from Lagos (Nigeria) – had started shivering with a fever during the flight which landed at the Barajas International Airport yesterday (October 16) at around 11:30am.
France has followed Britain, the United States and Canada to introduce screening for the virus at its main international airport. It came as the United Nations (UN) warned Ebola was outpacing efforts to combat the epidemic.
