Ebola: US nurses are short of protective suits – nursing union claims

A nursing union – National Nurses United – has claimed that nurses treating an Ebola patient in Dallas (USA) had to use medical tape to secure openings in their protective suits, as it is in short supply.

This revelation comes as a second hospital worker – Amber Vinson (29) tested positive for the disease.

In a statement, Deborah Burger of the union also said the first American Ebola patient – Thomas Eric Duncan (who died at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on 8 October) – was left in an open area of the emergency room for several hours before being put in isolation.
