Ebola: WHO warns that cases could hit 10,000 every week

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that there could be up to 10,000 new cases of the Ebola virus each week over the next two months, if response isn’t stepped up within the next 60 days.

WHO’s assistant director-general – Dr. Bruce Aylward – gave the figure while speaking at a news conference today (October 14).

He added that the death rate has now increased to 70 percent, saying that the disease was ‘a high mortality disease’.
