‘There is evidence to substantiate my claims’
Human rights lawyer, Ebun Olu-Adegboruwa has justified his facebook posts that labelled Nigeria’s number one citizen, President Muhammadu Buhari as an ailing and titular head who is only ruling by proxy. He insisted the president is seriously ill on account of the excerpts from the first lady, Hajia Aisha Buhari’s interview, revelations from Junaid Muhammed of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and his personal findings.
Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Friday, January 13, 2017, the outspoken lawyer said, “I have been following the trend of President Buhari in and outside Nigeria since he became the president. Then, the exclusive interview by his wife, Aisha Buhari and the revelations of Junaid Muhammed of Arewa Consultative Forum. Also, based on the personal information at my disposal. I see that the president is seriously indisposed. And people close to him are hiding this for their personal benefits.
All the appointments and policy decisions are being made without Buhari’s inputs. His government has been hijacked by the cabal. Buhari is just ruling by proxy. He is a sitting president without the responsibilities of portfolio. And now, we’re heading to the scenario of late president Umar Yar’adua.
“The truth is that each time Buhari travels abroad, he always visits various hospitals, using state functions to cover up his health status. I am raising this alarm in order to rescue the president himself from the so called cabal since nobody is God, anybody can take ill at any time. I am also saying this to save the country from the cabal because it’s these cabal that are ruling, not Buhari. And the constitution says if he, as a president, is unable to perform his duty, the Vice President should take charge. Unlike the present situation, neither the president nor his vice is in control.”
Probed further on the nature of the ailment Buhari is battling, he declined comment.
“That I can’t disclose for personal reasons. All I know is that Buhari is very much indisposed which is really affecting his performance as a sitting president.”
