EDWIN CLARK, GBENGA DANIEL, OTHERS HONOUR GBOYEGA ISIAKA @ BOOK LAUNCH IN LAGOS

Former Minister of Information and Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark on Sunday, October 27, 2013, chaired a public presentation of a book, Challenges of Development, a compendium of speeches of Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI), a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria in Ogun state.

The well attended event held at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. Former governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel was also there.

The book, which identified some of the economic problems facing the country and Ogun state in particular, attempts solutions in a lucid form by Isiaka an award winning investment banker turned politician. The speeches were compiled by Fatai Adesegun.

Fatai Adesegun, a youth development strategist and a budding entrepreneur is a graduate of Physics from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye and a former President of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State Chapter.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, who were part of eminent personalities that were initially expected at the gathering of renowned economists could however not make it as they sent representations.

 

EX OYO GOV, OLUNLOYO LOSES MOTHER AT 102

Former governor of Oyo State in the Second Republic, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, lost his aged mother few days back. Alhaja Tejumola Abebi Olunloyo, died last Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, after a brief illness. She was 102.

Reports have it that the Molete, Ibadan, Oyo State home of the Olunloyos has been a beehive of activities as families, business associates, politicians and friends, have been coming around to sympathize with the family.

She has been buried according to Islamic rites.

 

LAM ADESINA’S SON, DAPO MARKS BIRTHDAY WITH MOTHERLESS BABIES

Joys of less privileged at the Ibadan Motherless Babies Home, knew no bound few days ago as the Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Dapo-Lam Adesina marked his 34th birthday in low key with them.

Dapo-Lam Adesina, who is the son of veteran politician, Chief Lam Adesina extended his philanthropic hand to orphanages to show his care and give back.

The celebrant event which was attended by his committee of friends had in attendance personalities in the state who added glamour to the celebration.

It was also gathered that the orphanages were all in joyous mood as gifts were given to them by celebrant and his committee of friends.
