Electricity supply has improved in recent times, and that has given hope to the survival of business in Nigeria. Some entrepreneurs ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke to on this also confirmed the development. However, they still believed it could be better…

SOLOMON  JAMES, Rhasonel Limited

Though they have improved, we still need stable power supply. Lack of it affects our business drastically. My assessment on power supply is below average as we need it for our daily business 24 hours. Due to this epileptic power supply, it costs us more in the running of the plant and maintenance. Meaning, we spend more on overhead cost every day.

First Rhasonel Limited, is an outsourcing company that is into recruiting of workers for various organisations in Nigeria. We recruit and manage production and corporate staff. So, epileptic power supply affects us because we need power to work with our computers, our office and equipment needs to be powered. We print documents and a whole lot of activities. If power isn’t available, we must fall back to generator sets. The power improvement will do us a whole lot of good, in saving costs, time and even creating a conducive environment for the business to thrive.

OLAJIDE GREAT MCDEDE

Power supply has improved tremendously in my area, and I am so happy about that. It’s a good development, and I think President Buhari deserves kudos on that. But that does not mean it can’t be better. Although its effect, whether or not it’s in short supply, is not much on my business, it has only increased the amount I spent on fuel to power my generator.

But now, I am spending less on generator which directly or indirectly help in saving some money for other purposes.

SHEDRACK IKEDUE, Shedico Global

Yes, in the last few weeks, power supply has significantly improved. It has helped boost our revenue and reduced running cost. At least, we are sure that we would buy little fuel and it would last for more than a week. It is just like what we have always clamoured for, give us light, and we would take it from there. Nigerians are very resourceful, and we don’t do off the roof demands.
