Elizabeth R’s Memorabilia Nite for Molade Okoya Thomas reverberates

– A Pictorial Review

THE classy Night of Tribute and Service of Songs staged for departed mogul, Chief Alexander Omolade Okoya Thomas on Wednesday March 4, 2015 by A-list event planners, Elizabeth R, is still on the lips of many.

Kicking off with an emotional church service at Pastor Ituah Ighodalo’s Trinity House, Zion Centre in Oniru, Lagos, the memorable night was heralded by a wondrous exhibition of fireworks.

The late billionaire tycoon’s family members and guests then proceeded to the Dorchester Event Centre (also in the same compound with the church) for the Memorabilia Night.

A carefully curated chronology of the life and times of Chief Okoya Thomas, with his actual clothing, awards, pictures and other personal effects on display, the Memorabilia Nite was conceptualized and co-ordinated by the founder of Elizabeth R, Queen of events and Ex-Face of Lux, Ibidun Ighodalo.

Although the never -to -be- forgotten Memorabilia Nite was the first of its kind, those familiar with Ibidun’s midas touch to events were not surprised by the artistic spectacle displayed in honour of the icon who joined his ancestors on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 79.

Observedly, the historical  presentation took Chief Okoya-Thomas’s family and dignitaries on bitter-sweet journey of his life in different stages and moments, as a sportsman, industrialist, philanthropist, Provost and a staunch Catholic.

Family and friends were also moved to tears by this poignant celebration of the life and times of the man of means, untainted corporate titan and good dresser.
