This is not the country we dreamt of in our youthful days. It’s so unfortunate, God will see us through. A lot of ways, we do events for children, but now most parents want their children indoors rather than expose them to danger.

Government should provide employment opportunities so that these idle youths will have something to do rather than being used as a tool for evil.

It is a very disturbing situation. I pray God intervenes soonest. The prayers of the saints will not be in vain.

If the security situation in a country is bad, nothing will work including business. The situation is really affecting business everywhere in the country. The economy is down.

Government should arrest and punish those behind insecurity in the country. If there is security, business will thrive.

Basically, everybody is aware of the fact that Nigeria is not safe at the moment. This is seriously affecting investors interested in having anything meaningful to do again. The issue of security is a big threat to economic development in any nation.

That’s exactly what’s pulling most business owners down. President Goodluck Jonathan should not politicize it as a northern affair, it’s about the whole country. And he should act fast to avoid more damage.

Security is an issue here. From robbery, kidnapping to insurgency, it has been a difficult time for the nation. It has not affected us directly but it’s not good for business.

We have to support all levels of government and security agencies in tackling security problems.

Security challenge is indeed causing slow down in business. Concerning my profession, people don’t want to stay out late for security reasons. Night life is gradually fading out. As an entertainer, it’s very disturbing.

If people can’t come out to unwind, how do we make money? There are some areas in the country that cannot have social life again for fear of attack. Therefore, security issue needs urgent attention so as not to ruin the nation’s economy. We need to cut down on wasteful spending so that we can have enough for security.

Yes, security is a challenge here. It’s seriously affecting business. A lot has to be done but I think the state and Federal Government should do more.

I am sad for what we have turned Nigeria into. I never imagined we could ever get here and I’m still wondering, how did we get here? I just hope we find a way out of this mess because I’m embarrassed that they now mention Nigeria in the same breath with Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

It has not had any direct impact on my business as a Lagos based beautician. People say the problem is political. Maybe all we need to put an end to the security challenges is to solve them politically.

Honestly, I wish peace will return to Nigeria, just like how it used to be. It is so unfortunate that one can no longer visit some places within the country. I just hope and pray that the security situation in our country improves. It has affected my business in so many ways. I used to have clients in certain parts of the country, however, with this insurgency, designing and communicating with my clients is now a big problem. Even when you get hold of them, some companies are scared of delivering the clothes to them. I believe it will get better soon.

To end insecurity in Nigeria, all hands must be on deck. It is not only the government’s responsibility, it is the collective responsibility of every citizen. As citizens we should always obey the government’s instructions like reporting every suspicious movement. On the part of the government, I want them to beef up the defense budget so that the issue of insecurity will no longer be a huge problem in Nigeria.

The security situation is frightening in truth. No it hasn’t affected business. It’s really the government’s responsibility to protect its people from internal and external threats. It’s our job to insist on these fundamental rights and our duty to support and even encourage the government to act.
