Ewar’s Husband Mum On Controversy Trailing Her Death

ABIDEMI Ogungbe, husband to late pretty make-up queen, Nike Ogungbe, popularly known as Ewar, has kept mum on the controversy trailing his wife’s death.

Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, September 19, 2013, in a phone chat, the gentleman maintained sealed lips, insisting he was not ready to be part of the whole drama.  “I don’t have anything to say, just leave me out of that issue.”

All efforts to reach him again proved abortive as at press time.

We also spoke with Adejoke Kareem, one of the late make-up artist’s sisters. She also said, “There is no comment about it.  Everything is in God’s Hand.”

However, one of the late woman’s friends spoke with us but under anonymity.  “I don’t want to involve myself in the whole issue again. I wouldn’t say anything about the whole drama.  Don’t even ask me questions about it.”

A couple of weeks after the demise of Adenike, an open letter was sent to the Ogungbe family by undisclosed friends of the late entrepreneur. In the letter, the friends accused the Ogungbe family of negligence that led to the death of their friend.  It was alleged that Adenike was denied adequate medical care by being taken to a quack and occultic doctor in Sagamu, Ogun State.

They also alleged that not one single member of the entire Ogungbe family paid a condolence visit to Kareem’s family (Adenike’s biological parents) since she passed on.

It was further alleged that the Kareem family has been denied access to Ewaoluwa, Adenike’s daughter since she was born.

They pointed accusing fingers at the late woman’s husband, Abidemi, saying that he has not gone to see his in-laws ever since his wife passed on.

However, the two families are keeping mum about the issue, even those pointing accusing fingers are gradually withdrawing.

Adenike Ogungbe bid the world goodbye on July 3, 2013, at Aiyetoro hospital, Ogun State, after putting to bed a bouncing baby girl. She was given some anesthetic to deaden the pain she was going through but she did not come out alive.

The 32 year-old woman is survived by her husband and baby girl who was named Ewaoluwa after her business.

The late Nike Ogungbe was famous with her brand name, Ewar. She did well for the beauty industry with her exceptional touch, most especially on brides.  Since her demise, her office at Sumola Street, Maryland, Lagos has been shut.
