New study revealed that flossing doesn’t necessarily solve tooth decay. But it’s still important as part of your dental health.
According to Dr. Kimberly Coulton, head of the Bachelor of Oral Health at Sydney University, Australia, “Interdental cleaning, which is cleaning between the teeth, is important, but that flossing isn’t necessarily how you should do that.”
Dr. Coulton noted that flossing the wrong way can cause damage to your gum.
“‘It’s important to use something. I wouldn’t say don’t use anything interdentally. Other tools you can use include interdental cleaners,” she added.
It’s advisable to brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and reduce the amount of sugary drink one consumes .
