A notorious fake prophet, Chuks Samson Obama, who has been parading himself as Dr. Chris Okafor, the General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, aka Liberation City, has been nabbed in Lagos. This 33 year old fraudster and a native of Ebonyi State met his waterloo on Sunday, March 9, 2014, in Magodo, Lagos after he was tracked down by some Liberation City Security operatives. He was said to have come to collect money from one of his clients, not knowing that the church security operatives had been on the lookout for him. He was apprehended and handed over to the police at the police post in Adigboluja, Ojodu Abiodun, Ogun State.
Insiders squealed to ENCOMIUM Weekly that the hunt for this fake prophet began when the church realized some church members were making comments that a man came calling that he is the founder of Liberation City and if they want him to go to their village they must be ready to give certain amount of money depending on their cases. Since then, the church has continued to monitor his activities, but his cup got filled on a fateful Sunday as he was in church for the first service. After the second service, Prophet Okafor located a lady called Juliet and warned her to be wary of the fake prophet that is about to defraud her.
Immediately, the lady said one Obasi was in church for the first service that it was the G.O that directed that she should follow him (Chuks Obasi) to the mountain for special family deliverance. We learnt, contact of the fake prophet was collected and the security operatives contacted him in disguise as if they were the lady and he was asked to come to Magodo to collect the N20,000 agreed for the deliverance. He came and he was apprehended.
“While interrogating Chuks Obasi on where he was ordained as a man of God, he said his mother told him he is a special being, that God wants to use him. That is why he took to this job. He confessed that he is only doing the job to make ends meet and sustain his family. He also said he has duped lots of people pretending to be a man of God. He confessed that if the country is good, he would not have been doing such hideous acts.
Items discovered in his bag were two bottles of anointing oil, a bottle of crude oil, various I.D cards, pictures of his clients with letters behind them, his phone which had pictures of him in a beer parlour drinking. He confessed that he is an addicted drunkard. He has since been handed over to the police at Adogboluja, Ojodu Abiodun, Ogun State.”
On Saturday, March 22, 2014, we contacted the ministry’s spokesperson, and he confirmed the development. “Yes it’s true but he has been apprehended and is with the police.”
