Fantastically Corrupt: Cameron lied, Nigeria 32nd country on most corrupt list (Full Table)

British Prime Minister, David Cameron was recently caught on camera telling the Queen that Nigeria, alongside Afghanistan was probably the most corrupt country in the world.

Cameron was speaking in a group alongside the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, the Leader of the Commons Chris Grayling and the Commons Speaker, John Bercow.

He said, “We’ve had a very successful cabinet meeting this morning to talk about our anti-corruption summit, we’ve got the Nigerians… actually we’ve got the leaders of some fantastically corrupt countries coming to Britain. Nigeria and Afghanistan, possibly the two most corrupt countries in the world.”

Amidst the furore over the veracity of the claim, encomium.ng consulted the Corruption Perceptions Index 2015 published by Transparency International—an organization that tracks corrupt practices worldwide.

According to T.I., Somalia and North Korea are the worst-performing countries when it comes to dealing with corruption.

The best-performing country on the list is Denmark, which displayed key characteristics such as high levels of press freedom, publicly-available data and independent judiciary.
