Fashion icon, Oscar De La Renta dies at 82

Award-winning designer, Oscar de la Renta has died of complications from cancer on Tuesday,October 20, 2014, at his home in Kent, Connecticut, United States of America at the age of 82.

The late designer dressed leading figures, from film stars to royalty,with his voluminous skirts and exquisite embroideries, the toast of several socialites.

His impressive clientele included Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Taylor Swift, Penelope Cruz, Amy Adams and Sarah Jessica Parker and many others.

He is survived by stepdaughter, Eliza Reed Bolen and her husband Alex Bolen, and his adopted son, Moises, a designer at his company.

His first wife, French Vogue editor Francoise de Langlade, died in 1983.
