Fashola loses step-mother

FORMER governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), has just lost one of his step-mothers, Mrs. Oludotun Onayemi.

Late Mrs. Oludotun Onayemi, the biological mother of Ms. Yinka Fashola, the General Manager of Lagos State Residents’ Registration Agency (LASRRA), died on Sunday, October 18, 2015, after a brief illness.  She died at 74.

She will be buried on Friday, November 6, 2015, at Victoria Court Cemetery, Lekki, Lagos, after a funeral service at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, Oba Akinjobi Street, Ikeja, Lagos. Reception will be at Eagle Club, Surulere, Lagos.

Late (Mrs.) Oludotun Onayemi is probably the second wife of late Alhaji Ademola Fashola, going by the ages of his children.

His first wife would be the mother of his first child, Mrs. Fuwa.

Late (Mrs.) Oludotun Onayemi’s daughter, Ms. Yinka Fashola, is six months older than Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), the former governor of Lagos, whose mother is probably the third wife of the late Alhaji Ademola Fashola.

Aside Ms. Yinka Fashola, late Mrs. Onayemi also had two other children for Alhaji Ademola Fashola.  They are Niyi Fashola, who died few years ago and Ademola Fashola a.k.a Demsey.

She later divorced Alhaji Ademola Fashola to marry Onayemi.  We are, however, not sure whether she had children for Onayemi.

ENCOMIUM Weekly also gathered that Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) is the only child his mother, Mrs. Olufunke Agunbiade (who is still very much alive), had for late Alhaji Ademola Fashola, before she left him to marry Agunbiade, with whom she has three children – Mr. Bola Agunbiade, a lawyer, Mrs. Bisi Ikuforiji and Mr. Femi Agunbiade also a lawyer.

Former governor Fashola’s siblings from his father also include Miss Omolara Fashola, Mr. Ademola Fashola, Jnr., Mr. Adewale Fashola and Ademola-Keji Fashola.
