IS General Muhammadu Buhari, the incoming president going to appoint Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola his Chief of Staff? Well, nobody knows.

But if the rumour on the social media is to believed, the outgoing governor of Lagos state may be the next Chief of Staff to the president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to online portals, the hard working governor is being positioned as the next Chief of Staff to the president by General Buhari himself because Fashola’s name was missing from the ministerial list of Lagos state.

His name was said to be missing from the Lagos state ministerial list because Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who determines the name on the list was not on good term with him (Fashola).

But General Buhari who is said to have been impressed by the good work Fashola has done in Lagos state in the last eight years, was said to have penned down has name as his Chief of Staff to compensate him for not being on the list. However, most of our sources in government circle we asked, denied any knowledge of such.

One or two of them specifically said it is not true.

Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, was the Chief of Staff to Tinubu in 2002. He became the Chief of Staff when Alhaji Lai Muhammed who was then Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, left to contest for the governorship of Kwara State.

Fashola was Tinubu’s Chief of Staff till 2007, when he became the governor of Lagos state.
