Fayose not sorry for despicable Buhari advert

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state is apparently not sorry for the distasteful advert he ran on the cover of a national

newspapers yesterday, Monday, January 19, 2014, where he suggested that the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari could die in office if elected.

The advert has triggered widespread criticism from several quarters as many Nigerians rapped Fayose for wishing Buhari dead as Africans are not known to denigrate the dead nor wish people dead.

Following the backlash that followed the advert, many thought that he would apologize for his comments. However, judging from tweets from his personal Twitter handle, the Ekiti governor remains bullish and believes his advert should be an eye opener, rather than an insult.

“I suggest we all keep our peace ‘n let the North decide if @GovAyoFayose’s advert is an insult or an eye opener.”

However, reacting to the said advert on Twitter, Gen. Buhari has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to focus their campaigns on national issues rather than his state of health and dead Nigerian leaders.
